Martini Purisiol saw a dream come true when she bought her own piece of Venice 16 years ago and set up a ceramics shop in the heart of Castello.
With local clay from the Veneto region, she designs, paint, and fires the ceramics under the watchful eye of her cat, Oscar.
Particularly striking is her interpretation of the Bovolo, the snail-like staircase that winds its way up the 15th-century Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo.
Color-ful wine jugs, gold embellished vases, whimsical plates and zodiacal clocks are a few other examples of her wares.
